
Dr. Kristen Mulcahy, PhD (She/Her)
Clinical Director
Dr. Kristen Mulcahy is the Clinical Director of Cape CBI. She earned her PhD in Clinical/School Psychology from Hofstra University. Trained and supervised in Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) by leading experts in the field at the Bio-Behavioral Institute in New York, Dr. Mulcahy developed a specialty in OCD and related disorders.
Dr. Mulcahy has written and presented across the country at conferences held by the International OCD Foundation (IOCDF), the Anxiety Disorders Association of America (ADAA), and the World Congress on OCD. She has presented locally at McLean Hospital, Martha’s Vineyard Hospital, Butler Hospital and in collaboration with Walden Behavioral Care on topics ranging from CBT, OCD, Trichotillomania, as well as eating disorders including Avoidant/Restrictive Food Intake Disorder (ARFID). Dr. Mulcahy has appeared as an expert in her field on several television shows including Boston 25 News, 48 hours, Chronicle, and The God Squad.
Dr. Mulcahy has also created and launched the first comprehensive iPhone app. Live OCD Free, designed to guide both child and adult OCD sufferers through Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP). Research, conducted by Butler Hospital, showed Live OCD Free significantly improved outcomes for OCD sufferers who used the app as a self-help tool.
In 2017, Dr. Mulcahy launched the ASPIRE coaching and later a hybrid residential program at Cape CBI for adults with Autism and other special needs, which later expanded into a hybrid residential program in Centerville, MA.
A firm believer that everyone can learn and grow through all struggles to become the very best versions of themselves, Dr. Mulcahy continues to reinvent herself to grow and expand the services of Cape CBI to best serve her Cape Cod community and beyond.

Stacey Glick, M.S., LMHC (She/Her)
Licensed Mental Health Counselor
Stacey earned her master’s degree in Counseling Psychology at Northeastern University. She is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) with extensive experience working with clients of all ages in outpatient clinics, behavioral programs, as well as home and school settings.
Trained and experienced in all CBT approaches, including Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Stacey places a strong emphasis on mindfulness to alleviate symptoms associated with OCD, anxiety, depression, and trauma. She has training in yoga therapy and enjoys incorporating this into her work with individuals as well as groups.
Stacey is passionate about helping clients to identify their core values and take action that will lead to lasting change and fulfillment.

Jay Masiello, M.S.
Mental Health Counselor (Pre-licensure)
After completing his master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling from Suffolk University, Jay joined Cape CBI to provide high-quality mental health care to individuals across the lifespan. Jay has experience in suicide risk prevention and crisis intervention and has conducted individual therapy for neurotypical individuals as well as those with developmental disabilities and Autism Spectrum Disorder. In addition, he has been actively developing his knowledge and skills in the treatment of Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD) and OCD related disorders under the supervision of Dr. Kristen Mulcahy. Jay is committed to utilizing evidence-based therapies for individuals of all ages.
With a lifelong passion for athletics and playing musical instruments, Jay understands the importance of dedication, self-expression, and balance in maintaining emotional well-being. He is passionate about helping individuals build resilience, deepen self-awareness, and create meaning in life.

Janell Burley Hofmann
Mental Health Counselor (Pre-licensure)
Janell Burley Hofmann, BA, MA, MS is a post-master’s mental health counselor, author,
international speaker and consultant. She brings over 15 years of experience working with
adolescents, families, schools and communities at the intersection of mental health,
interpersonal relationships and collective needs.
In her clinical work, Janell specializes in anxiety disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorder
(OCD), suicidality, family systems, life transitions and identity development. Her approach is
eclectic, strengths-based and relational, drawing on multiple therapeutic modalities to meet
each client’s unique needs. She emphasizes positive connection, resilience, and growth and is
known for her ability to create trust and safety while both nurturing and challenging clients,
helping them access their own insight, strengths and capacity for change. Janell is also trained
in EFCT to inform her work with couples.
As the author of iRules: What Every Tech-Healthy Family Needs to Know About Selfies,
Sexting, Gaming, and Growing Up (Rodale, Inc.), Janell contributes to the global conversation
about youth, families and technology. Her work has been featured in The New York Times,
Good Morning America, NPR, and BBC News, and she has spoken internationally on
well-being, connection and modern family life.
Janell holds a Bachelor of Arts in Communication Studies, a Master of Arts in Critical and
Creative Thinking and a Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. She has lived
on Cape Cod for over 20 years, where she and her husband have raised their five children.

Ellen Gage, MS, BCBA, LABA
Ellen earned her master’s degree in Applied Behavior Analysis at Western New England University and is currently enrolled at Assumption University, completing a Certificate in Advanced Graduate Studies as a Transition Specialist. She has experience in residential, school-based, and applied research settings working with clients with Autism Spectrum Disorder.
For the past six years, Ellen has led a special education classroom for high school students, teaching them the daily living, community, and vocational skills needed to achieve their goals and lead meaningful and connected lives after graduation. She has extensive experience working with students with behavioral challenges and works with them to develop communication and behavior repertoires to meet their needs in more adaptive ways. She is passionate about person-centered planning and ensuring clients’ ability to advocate for themselves and their own interests, strengths, and preferences.
Additionally, Ellen coaches unified sports and group fitness classes and enjoys using fitness to create mutually beneficial opportunities for neurotypical and neurodiverse individuals. Ellen welcomes clients with a range of language skills, including nonverbal clients. She is interested in the intersection of ASD and OCD and growing her practice in this area.

Cindy Burke
Mental Health Counselor (Pre-licensure)
Cindy earned her Master’s Degree in Mental Health Counseling with a concentration in Trauma Studies from Cambridge College in Boston. Cindy spent many years assisting persons with developmental and behavioral challenges. She worked for the State of CT Department of Developmental Services before relocating to MA in 2016. Cindy works with clients of all ages. She sees play therapy, art therapy, music therapy and pet therapy as very useful tools in helping youth and adults reach their goals. She incorporates meditation, mindfulness and gratitude in her approach. Cindy is invested in meeting her clients where they are and in helping them achieve their mental health goals.

Tanya Frenking
Masters Level Intern
Tanya is currently pursuing her Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology at UMass Dartmouth, with the goal of becoming a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) and eventually continuing her studies in a PhD program. She earned her Bachelor’s degree from Coastal Carolina University, majoring in National Intelligence and Homeland Security with minors in Sociology and Psychology.
Her passion for mental health and trauma recovery was ignited through her volunteer work at the Myrtle Beach Rape Crisis Center, leading her to further her education in these critical areas. As a research assistant at UMass Dartmouth, Tanya contributes to forensic psychology and research on sexual assault, trauma, and mental health. She has a particular interest in anxiety disorders and obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), focusing on evidence-based treatments that help clients effectively manage and reduce symptoms.
Tanya takes a holistic approach to mental health, striving to meet clients where they are and empowering them to take control of their healing process. She is a member of Psi Chi, the international honor society in psychology, and previously served as vice president of the Gamma Phi Beta Sorority. In addition to her academic and professional pursuits, Tanya is a devoted mother to a 4-year-old, one of 11 siblings, and is married to a US Army veteran.
